Two ComfortDelGro taxi drivers have been sacked for reckless driving after another motorist filmed them wildly swerving into each other's lanes in an apparent bout of road rage.
The 30-second video clip was posted on citizen journalism website Stomp on Sunday.
The incident took place on the Pan-Island Expressway.
The video began with one ComfortDelGro taxi flashing its high beam at the taxi in front of it.
Both vehicles were in the right lane.
When the taxi in front moved to the middle lane, the second taxi drove up alongside and then abruptly cut into its lane.
This forced the first taxi to swerve out of the middle lane to avoid a collision.
Then the driver of the first taxi responded in kind, swerving into the right lane and forcing the second taxi to veer out towards the road divider.
The two taxis then split up before the video ended. It is not known if either cab was ferrying passengers when the incident took place.
ComfortDelGro has since terminated the hiring agreement of both drivers.
Its spokesman Tammy Tan said: "We do not condone such reckless driving."
Netizens called for further action to be taken against the two errant drivers, such as revoking their taxi vocational licences.
The Straits Times understands that the two drivers have committed an offence under the Road Traffic Act for reckless or dangerous driving.
If convicted, they can be fined up to $3,000, jailed for up to 12 months, or both.
