The National Environment Agency (NEA) said it will take action against two food operators in Ang Mo Kio (AMK) Hub. This came after it discovered traces of rat activity in their premises.

NEA conducted a three-week probe involving 55 food operators within the mall, following public feedback.

Its officers found rat activities in Dian Xiao Er Restaurant and MOF Restaurant.

It added four rats were caught in AMK Hub in November this year, and six rat burrows were found near the mall.

NEA has requested the mall to work with its food operators to take preventive measures against rats. NEA officers are monitoring these efforts.

AMK Hub said several measures have been put in place to prevent rat activity, including sealing up wire mesh openings for all ventilation ducts in food and beverage outlets, as well as conducting night checks in the mall.

Rat traps and glue boards have also been placed in various areas in AMK Hub.
