Online appeal for blood donors for injured Navy serviceman

Netizens have launched an online appeal for blood donors for Navy serviceman Jason Chee, who lost both legs and his left hand in an accident on board a navy warship.

The blood bank is running low on his blood type which ME2 Chee needs for his subsequent operations to succeed. Blood donations can be made at the Health Sciences Authority (http://www.hsa.gov.sg/publish/hsaportal/en/health_services/blood_donation/wheretodonate.html?direct=1)

The Weapon Systems Supervisor, who is currently warded in Changi General Hospital, got caught between a motorised winch and a rope on Landing Ship Tank RSS Endeavour on Monday. He had been checking on one of the berthing ropes that was being tightened when the incident occured.

According to CNA's source, the Singapore Armed Forces' investigation into the cause of the incident may take more than a month to complete.
