"Le puissant dragon rame avec toute leur force et de Coeur”– The powerful dragons rowed with all their strength and heart! The Dragon Boat Team from the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) Home United Sports and Recreation Association (HUSRA) displayed this trait during the 30th Singapore River Regatta 2012 Event on 3rd and 4th November 2012 at the Singapore River.
Organised by the Singapore Dragon Boat Association together with the People’s Association and the Civil Service Club, the event attracted more than 500 participating teams.
The MHA HUSRA Dragon Boat Team (comprising mainly of rowers from the Singapore Police Force) competed in the National Championship and Public Service categories.
With a team cheer to boost their confidence and rouse their resolve to emerge champions, the team, who is also known as HUSRA Dragons, was eager to begin.
In the highly contested Public Service Challenge Trophy, the HUSRA Dragons competed with the other ministries and statutory boards in this prestigious category.
Facing competition from our strongest rival teams from the Land Transport Authority, the Singapore Armed Forces Sports Association, the National Development Ministry and the Education Ministry, HUSRA Dragons were simply a class above them.
They stormed to the Grand Finals with remarkable timings for all six categories.
Our Senior and Active Agers rowers performed exceptionally well.
