Ex-cop may go blind after fight with transvestite

Former policewoman Siti Suzana Zakaria is too brave for her own good, said her former husband, Rusdi Salleh, 46.

Siti was splashed with acid in a fight with a trans-vestite near the Pasar Seni Light Rapid Transit station on Tuesday.

The mother of three is warded at Kuala Lumpur Hospital with 40 per cent burns on the face and chest.

Her younger sister, Siti Fatimah, said: "My sister has a good heart but if there's one thing she cannot tolerate is people walking over her."

Suzana, who was with the Bukit Aman information technology department as a constable for eight years from 1984, may go blind.

It is learnt that she went into depression after she and Rusdi divorced in 2006.

No arrest has been made but on Wednesday, city deputy Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Khairi Ahrasa said police knew who the suspect was.
