Another former Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officer was jailed for misappropriating drug offenders’ money and forgery.

Mohamad Hasri Haron, 36, admitted to pocketing S$4,165 and S$19.96 while he was a staff sergeant with CNB between September 2009 and September 2010.

He also admitted to forging documents to show that he had returned S$1,740 to Duraisingam Rajamohan, 57, and S$1,553 and S$4 to Siew Kim Chun, 33, in 2010.

A district court heard that the sums of money seized from drug accused persons were handed to Hasri who was an investigation officer at the time.

He misappropriated the money and used it to pay for his personal expenses.

Hasri, who resigned in November 2010 after 13 years of service, has made full restitution of about S$8,000 to six accused persons.

He now has a job in Malaysia.

District Judge Lee Poh Choo yesterday sentenced him to 15 months’ jail which was backdated to Oct 29.

Four other charges were considered during his sentencing.

Last week, ex-CNB senior investigation officer Muhammad Nur Wagiyoh, 30, was jailed for 13 months for misappropriating about S$7,000 involving five accused.
