The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA) have issued a joint statement assuring that there is sufficient blood for injured Navy serviceman Jason Chee.
"We would like to assure all well-wishers that ME2 Jason Chee has been well supported by the National Blood Programme and there is sufficient blood for his surgeries," said the SRC and HSA today.
The SRC has been recalling donors who are due for donation and blood donors of O+ type to ensure sufficient stocks.
Navy personnel turn up in droves to donate blood
Days after Military Expert (ME) 2 Jason Chee was severely injured while working on board the Landing Ship Tank (LST) RSS Endeavour, fellow Republic of Navy (RSN) servicemen have been streaming in to the National Blood Bank after hearing that their stricken serviceman requires blood for further surgical operations.
According to a Singapore Red Cross representative, about 140 RSN personnel turned up to donate blood yesterday and more are continuing to stream in today. More than 80 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel came to the National Blood Bank in the hour cyberpioneer was there.
