Kai Kai and Jia Jia, here on a 10-year loan from China, are housed in a 1,500 sq m exhibit.
As the Giant Panda Forest, located in the upcoming River Safari attraction, opens only in the first quarter of next year, visitors will have to enter the exhibit through a specially-created access point in the Singapore Zoo.
Visitors to the exhibit have to pay the usual zoo admission price, which grants access to the zoo, as well as an additional fee. This is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Visitors have to choose a preferred time slot to enter the exhibit and will be given 15 minutes in it. About 150 visitors will be allowed into the Giant Panda Forest at any one time.
Giving an update on the $160 million, 12ha River Safari, Ms Claire Chiang, chairman of Wildlife Reserves Singapore, said they are in the "final stages" of the attraction's development.
Adding to the zoo and Night Safari, the Government will also explore the Mandai Nature Cluster's "potential for accommodation, dining and other leisure facilities" in the future.
As a group of family-oriented attractions, the Mandai Nature Cluster will help add to "high-yield tourism". This means getting visitors to Singapore to stay longer and do more things here.
