More local talents will have a major role in HBO Asia's first prime-time television drama "Serangoon Road".

Singaporean actor Chin Han, 42, has recently joined the cast led by Hollywood's Joan Chen. Best known for his role in the blockbuster movie 'The Dark Knight', he will be a regular in the series.

The show will also feature Singaporean guest stars such as veterans Lim Kay Tong, Tan Kheng Hua, Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun.

"This international production reflects Singapore's ability to provide accessibility to a vibrant pool of talent connected to the film and television industry as well as an exchange of knowledge and skills between the various international parties involved," said Jonathan Spink, chief executive officer, HBO Asia.

The series is set in the 60s and will feature scenes shot across various locations in Singapore such as, Raffles Hotel and former colonial houses along Mount Pleasant Road, Mount Rosie Road and Mount Faber.

"Serangoon Road" is currently in production and is supported by the Media Development Authority's Production Assistance grant.
