All 2,200 sheep allocated for korban here this year have been fully booked.

Registration at all 32 participating mosques - including the 16 audited mosques - is now closed, more than two weeks ahead of the initial closing date of Oct 19, the Singapore Mosques Korban Committee (JKMS) said in a media statement on Monday.

Muslims who have yet to register but wish to perform korban are advised to make alternative arrangements such as performing korban overseas.

About 4,000 sheep are typically imported for the annual ritual, only half that number is being brought in this year because only 16 mosques, out of 69, have been cleared by the Australian government to carry out the slaughter.
