iPad mini to be launched Oct 17?

The latest rumour surrounding Apple's next major product launch is that Apple plans to send out invites for an iPad mini event. The invites are expected to reach the media on October 10.

This means the device will likely be launched on Oct 17 and be available at retail by early November.

The iPad mini is said to have a 7.85-inch screen and a thinner frame to allow for a wider display than other tablets of a similar size. It will reportedly come in two colours, black and white.
