S'pore to host Sport Climbing World Youth Championships in August

Singapore will host the upcoming International Federation of Sport Climbing World Youth Championships.

It will be held at Sentosa's Siloso Beach from August 29 to September 1.

Singapore pipped China and the US to host the Championships.

About 540 participants from 46 countries will compete in Singapore in a sport that is aiming for Olympic Games selection in 2020.

Sport climbing is also bidding to be one of the medal events for the SEA Games in 2015.
