Mendy hits four as Home thump Geylang
Frederic Mendy scored four goals to help Home United get their Great Eastern-YEO's S.League title hopes back on track with a 7-3 win over Geylang United on Wednesday.

Jozef Kaplan opened the scoring for the Eagles in the sixth minute when his close-range shot was deflected past Nazri Sabri, but after Qiu Li had restored parity from the spot in the 36th minute, the visitors reclaimed the lead four minutes before the break when Khayrulhayat Jumat bundled home after Home failed to deal with a Khairulnizam Jumahat corner.

However, the hosts pulled level again in the 50th minute when Shotaro Ihata powered in a header at the far post, before they edged ahead for the first time five minutes later when Qiu sent a six-yard strike in off the crossbar.

And in a stunning 23-minute surge, Mendy then netted an astonishing four times to put his side 7-2 up, although the visitors finished off the scoring deep into injury-time when Kaplan grabbed his second with a stunning long-range effort.

Albirex hand DPMM third straight defeat
Albirex Niigata handed DPMM FC their third consecutive loss in the Great Eastern-YEO's S.League on Wednesday after beating them 2-0 at the Jurong East Stadium.

Yasuhiro Yamakoshi opened the scoring for Albirex in the 33rd minute when he expertly controlled a cross from Sho Kamimura on his chest, before guiding his shot past Wardun Yussof at the near post.

Awangku Fakharazzi then missed an excellent chance to equalise shortly after halftime when he scuffed an effort from six yards out straight at Takuma Ito, before the White Swans keeper did well to tip over a fierce drive from DPMM captain Rosmin Kamis.

Hadzibulic hat-trick takes Tampines top (before Albirex claimed it back)
Sead Hadzibulic scored his maiden hat-trick in Tampines Rovers' colours as the Stags trampled Woodlands Wellington 3-0 to go top of the Great Eastern-YEO'S S.League.

All the pre-match chatter had been about the amount of damage Steven Tan's well-drilled outfit could inflict on the beleaguered Rams, and the visitors almost started the process inside the first minute.

The Serbian scored in the 15th, 39th and 84th minute to seal three points for Tampines against an abject home side that was outplayed in every department for most of the match.
