Singapore's Mayton Automotive may test 200 electric vehicles in Punggol

Singapore will develop its very own electric vehicle.

Local firm Mayton Automotive is jointly developing the car with partners from China and the United States.

The company is also pumping S$10 million over five years into establishing an electric vehicle research and development centre in Singapore.

Future plans involve the possibility of test-bedding up to 200 electric vehicles in Punggol.

This will run parallel to current testing being done by government agencies.
