The Government has proposed amendments to the Casino Control Act to ensure that the regulatory regime keeps pace with developments in the industry and international best practices.
The proposed amendments aim to better align the legislative framework with the original policy intent of introducing the Integrated Resorts (IRs) in Singapore; enhance law enforcement levers; and strengthen social safeguards, amongst others. A public consultation on the proposed amendments was launched today.
The public consultation will start on Monday and end on Aug 6. Members of the public can access the public consultation document and the draft Bill at the REACH portal (www.reach.gov.sg). Feedback can be submitted to: mha_cca_consultation@mha.gov.sg.
