Police have arrested a 20-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for several cases of outrage of modesty reported in Ang Mo Kio.
Since early this year, police have received reports from women aged 20 to 41, who were molested in lifts in Ang Mo Kio.
The culprit would enter the lift at the ground floor and molest his victims as they were exiting the lift.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division analysed the crime patterns and mounted ambushes at various locations in a bid to apprehend the suspect.
The officers' efforts finally paid off when they managed to establish the suspect's identity following extensive enquiries and investigations.
On July 9 at about 4pm, the 20-year-old suspect was located and arrested in the vicinity of Telok Blangah Road.
Preliminary investigations indicate that he is involved in at least three such cases.
The suspect will be charged in Court on July 11with the offence of Outrage of Modesty.
If convicted, he could be jailed up to two years, fined, or caned.
