The National University of Singapore says it has not started its own inquiry into an alleged sex scandal involving a law professor and a student.

The university said it was waiting for the results of ongoing investigations conducted by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

The professor is under investigation after he allegedly gave good grades to the student in exchange for sex.

He was arrested in April and is now out on bail.

When contacted, NUS said it was aware of an ongoing investigation involving a staff member, but did not comment if the professor had been suspended from duty.

It said every staff must adhere to a code of conduct.

Should there be any violation of the code, staff may, among others, be subjected to a warning or dismissal.
