OOONPH... NEED... BOOST...
The National Trades Union Congress, aiming to boost wages for 3,000 workers in the hotel industry, unveiled a progressive wage framework for the sector on Tuesday.

The framework sets out a ladder of wage benchmarks for workers to scale: from $1,000 for a room attendant to $1,300 for a 'room associate' doing an upgraded version of the job, and so on.

NTUC hopes to raise workers' pay by promoting productivity-raising measures and job redesigns in the industry.
