A former administrator and principal of the People's Action Party Community Foundation (PCF) has been fined $8,000 for the misappropriation of about $5,000 in funds.

Kis Quek Yuan Yuan, 41, was found guilty of criminal breach of trust.

Ms Quek, who is now pregnant, was in charge of collecting money from parents of students at the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng branch of the kindergarten at the time.

She was supposed to deposit the money into PCF's bank account.

Auditors found a discrepancy of $4,999.70 between the amount of money received and the recorded amount deposited into the bank.

Including the amounts in two other charges considered, Quek has since made full restitution of $10,161 to PCF. She could have been sentenced to seven years in jail and/or fined.
