Tourists and shoppers at VivoCity will soon be able take scenic tours around the mall on a locomotive train service which beginning July 27.

The Mini Express will take passengers on a round-trip around the Promenade, where they can take in the sights and sounds of the waterfront as well as view the mall’s existing outdoor art installations.

The four-wagon battery-operated train, which operates without a track, can take up to 24 children per ride and has the look and feel of an olden-day railway train.

To enhance the overall experience and create realism of a train ride, the Mini Express has a smoke machine that generates non-toxic glycol-based smoke to recreate the locomotive experience, complete with a built-in sound system that plays the sounds of bells and the whistling of the train.

Shoppers can hop onto the Mini Express at $6 per ride. Children who are below 90cm in height must be accompanied by an adult (no additional charge for the accompanying adult). Tickets can be purchased at the starting point located at The Promenade (near SingKids #01-171-174).
