O$P$ premieres 18th July, Wednesday at 10:00pm

A 24-year-old man and 15-year-old girl was arrested on Thursday afternoon for loanshark harassment.

Police officers had spotted the couple behaving suspiciously at a HDB block near Rivervale Crescent. They recognised the male subject as the suspect of a loanshark harassment case reported earlier at 1.20 am in the same area.

A mobile phone containing debtors' records was found on the man. Preliminary investigations indicated that the couple had splashed paint and scrawled loanshark-related graffiti on the walls of HDB blocks in Yishun, Rivervale, Bedok and Woodlands housing estates.

The male suspect has been remanded at Ang Mo Kio Police Division, while the investigation against the female suspect is still ongoing. If guilty, first time offenders may be fined between $5,000 and $50,000 with mandatory jail term of up to five years and mandatory caning of up to six strokes.
