EVEN BATMAN HAS DOWNGRADED
Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums rose across the board yesterday in the first bidding exercise after the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) announcement last Thursday that the COE supply over the next six months will be reduced.

The COE premium for big cars breached the S$90,000 mark, rising almost 10 per cent or S$8,212, to S$90, 501. The sharpest increase was for smaller cars and taxis, where premiums rose 15.5 per cent to S$68,656.

According to the LTA, there will be 3,226 COEs available per month between August and January, which is 12.7 per cent fewer than that of the last six months. The quota for small cars will be cut by more than a third.
