The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) successfully disrupted and arrested three men and one woman on suspicion for drug trafficking and consumption on July 16. A total of $186,000 worth of drugs were seized from them.
Two of the men were Singaporean while the other man was a Malaysian. The woman was a Vietnamese.
A large number of drugs were found. This includes 2,663 Erimin-5 tablets and capsules; 830 Ecstasy tablets; 672 grams of 'Ice', 510 grammes of ketamine; 453 grams of cannabis and 7 grams of heroin.
More than $60,000 cash and three saloon cars including a BMW and a Lexus were also seized.
Officers launched an operation on Tuesday targeting the two Singaporeans, aged 37 and 31, who are believed to be running a local drug syndicate.
The Malaysian, a 37-year-old, was seen entering a carpark in Eunos at 7:40pm. About 20 minutes later, the 37-year-old Singaporean entered the same carpark in a black BMW.
CNB officers arrested the Malaysian man after he left the carpark. A total of $2,311 cash was found on him.
Officers followed the Singaporean man to Bedok Reservoir Road and arrested him. On him, they uncovered a variety of drugs including 1,813 Erimin-5 tablets; 410 Ecstasy tablets; 169 grammes of ketamine; 106 grammes of 'Ice' and seven grammes of heroin.
Drug trafficking paraphernalia such as packing material and S$29,850 cash were also found.
Another team of CNB officers acting on a concurrent operation also arrested a 31-year-old Singaporean suspect and his 24-year-old Vietnamese woman companion.
On him, they found 480 Erimin-5 tablets; 140 grammes of 'Ice'; 106 Ecstasy tablets; 93 grammes of ketamine; 15 grams of cannabis and $684 in cash.
In a follow-up raid at one of the serviced apartment units the 31-year-old Singaporean suspect was believed to have been hiding in, they recovered about 388 grammes of cannabis; 300 Erimin-5 tablets; 224 grams of 'Ice,' 208 grams of ketamine and 50 'Ecstasy' tablets.
Drug trafficking paraphernalia such as digital weighing scales, plastic packets and $20,524 cash were also found.
Another 24 grammes of 'Ice' and 2 Erimin-5 capsules were found in his Lexus.
At about 10:15pm on the same night, CNB officers raided an HDB unit in Choa Chu Kang Central suspected to be the hide-out of one of the suspects.
About 264 Ecstasy tablets, 178 grammes of 'Ice,' 68 Erimin-5 tablets; 50 grammes of cannabis; and 40 grammes of ketamine; apparatus for consuming drugs and $7,000 in cash were seized
The three men are being investigated for drug trafficking.
The two men who met up at the carpark could face a penalty of at least five years' imprisonment and five strokes of the cane if convicted.
The other Singaporean man, if found guilty, can be sentenced to a minimum sentence of 20 years in jail and given 15 strokes of the cane.
The Vietnamese woman is being investigated on suspicion of drug use. If convicted, she faces a penalty of up to 10 years' imprisonment and/or a S$20,000 fine.
