A delivery man pleaded guilty today to slashing his neighbour several times with a samurai sword.
Feizal Abu Bakar, 28, also admitted to slapping and kicking his pregnant wife, despite her personal protection order against him.
He pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt to his neighbour, 36-year-old Wirdawati Che Muning, and another count of breaching his wife's Personal Protection Order.
Both incidents took place at a flat in Boon Lay in January this year.
On Jan 7, Feizal went to Ms Wirdawati's house in a bid to confront her husband over drug allegations.
Feizal, who was drunk at that time, got angry and started shouting when Ms Wirdawati told him that her husband was out.
She tried to retreat into her flat but Feizal took out a black samurai sword and prevented her from closing the door.
He then swung the sword at her, cutting her hands. He also pushed his way into her flat where he slashed her several times on her head, leg and back.
On a separate occasion within the same month, Feizal assaulted his pregnant wife after she refused to accompany him to a police station to settle his bail.
He slapped her, kicked her in the stomach and punched her twice. He also pulled her hair and hit her head.
According to hospital medical reports, she suffered bruises and abrasions from Feizal's assaults.
Various swords were found in Feizal's flat and were seized upon his arrest.
Feizal will be back in court on July 9.
