Whether it is to report the sighting of stray cats or abused animals, citizens can now play a bigger role with a high-tech twist.
The Cat Welfare Society (CWS) has added the Government's OneMap mapping application on its website to allow Singaporeans to post comments, pictures or videos of their sightings.
This is possible with Wednesday's launch of OneMap's 'crowd-sourcing' tool that mashes up the Government's mapping data with the postings of citizens.
By tapping on the collective intelligence of citizens, the CWS hopes to be able to identify hotspots island-wide of where stray cats are mostly found and where feeding points are mostly needed.
