Police officers Fired for 'Extreme Malingering'

A sergeant and three deputies with the Pinellas County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office have been fired for "extreme loafing and idling" that cheated taxpayers and endangered public safety.

The deputies responded to radio calls, but also disconnected GPS trackers in their patrol cars and didn't patrol or initiate law enforcement work for hours at a time.

The three fired deputies wasted the equivalent of 105 eight-hour workdays.
