The new $2 billion private hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena, is set to open this July.

On board are more than 100 specialists who will run clinics in the 14-storey hospital complex. Another 70 are expected to start their practices by year-end.

The Parkway Pantai hospital will have 333 beds and 13 operating theatres, with a focus on heart disease, neuroscience, orthopaedic and general surgery. More than half of the beds will be ready for use when the hospital opens, with the remainder to be ready by mid next year.

The opening comes after a tussle over the use of the name 'Mount Elizabeth' from doctors practising at Parkway's older medical facility in Orchard, Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
