From July, senior officers in the Home Team will receive a five per cent increase in their monthly salary.
These officers, who hold ranks such as inspector, assistant commissioner and superintendent, will also receive better performance bonuses, announced Minister in Prime Minister's office S. Iswaran during an event held for the promotion of Home Team officers.
The Home Team includes the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force, and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
Mr Iswaran, who is also the second minister for Home Affairs said: "With the challenging times ahead, it is all the more important that we maintain our focus on attracting and retaining good people, and developing them to their full potential."
He added that in order to build a strong Home Team, officers will need to possess deep expertise in core skills, be technologically savvy and be equipped with soft skills.
A total of 4,474 Home Team officers will be promoted this year.
