Foreign maids to attend one-day settling in programme from May

The new compulsory Settling-in-Programme (SIP) for first-time maids will be introduced from May 1.

46/365 - pay upIt will be conducted as a one-day course that costs $75 for employers.

Currently, employers pay $7 for their maids to sit the English entry test and $28 for the Safety Awareness Course (SAC).

The SIP replaces the English entry test which has been a bug bear for many first-time maids who find it hard to pass because of their weak command of the language.
