Dead body found floating in Punggol river

The body of a Chinese man was Monday found floating in the waters of Sungei Serangoon Park, also known as Punggol river.

Singapore's Civil Defence officers received a call at about 10.25am informing them of the body floating in the river opposite Block 119, Rivervale Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene five minutes later, they saw the body floating four meters from the river bank.

They pronounced the man dead after retrieving the body from the waters.

The Police have classified the death as unnatural and are investigating.
