Brunei's armed forces chief receives top military award

Brunei's military chief was conferred Singapore's highest military award on Thursday.

Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major-General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, was conferred the Distinguished Service Order (Military) by President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana.

Maj-Gen Aminuddin was honoured for his role in fostering close defence relations between the RBAF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

Under Maj-Gen Aminuddin, bilateral exercises such as Maju Bersama, Pelican and Air Guard and cross-attendance of courses were organised, boosting interaction and cooperation between the two armed forces. He also played a key role in forging closer ties between the RBAF Defence Academy and SAFTI Military Institute.
