Train disruption between Dhoby Ghaut and Harbourfront

North East Line train services between Dhoby Ghaut and Harbourfront are unavailable due to a power supply fault.

The delay is expected to last for six hours.

A statement by SBS Transit said that there was a problem with the overhead power supply system in the tunnel at Outram Park station.

Investigations are ongoing, and services are expected to resume at 12pm.

Free bus bridging between Harbourfront and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations are available.

UPDATE From @LTAsg: The estimated time of NEL train service recovery from HarbourFront to Dhoby Ghaut is now 1400 hrs.

UPDATE 2: SBS Transit's breakdown along the North East line between Dhoby Ghaut and Harbourfront stations could now stretch into the late afternoon, with the Land Transport Authority announcing services will likely only resume at 5pm.

The disruption has already lasted more than eight hours - even longer than the seven-hour lapse in December last year, which first put the reliability of Singapore's train network in the spotlight.

UPDATE 3: NEL service resumes at 4.35pm
The NEL service resumed service at 4.35pm. It was reported that passengers were permitted to board trains at Outram Park station.
