Singapore delivers S$28-million quake relief to Japan

HERE WE COME
TO SAVE THE DAAAY!
Giving an update on its relief efforts for quake-hit Japan, the Singapore Red Cross said it has delivered S$28 million worth of relief and rebuilding projects from donations raised through its public appeal.

This is 80 per cent of the S$35.7 million raised.

The Singapore Red Cross was appointed by Singapore's foreign ministry as the lead agency to coordinate Singapore's relief efforts to Japan.

Over the next two days, it will meet with Japanese officials to finalise the details of two additional projects to improve the lives of survivors and restore normalcy.

A community centre in Soma City, Fukushima and a nursery in Shichigahama Town, Miyagi are in the pipeline.
