A spokesman said on Saturday morning that all 40km of the NEL tunnel have been inspected and no abnormalities have been detected.
'Train service on the North East Line continues to run smoothly... We will continue to monitor the system closely,' she said in a statement.
The two steel cables snapped just before service began on Thursday, affecting some 90,000 commuters, including thousands making their way to work that morning.
Service only resumed later that evening.
The breakdown comes after two disruptions on the North-South Line in December, making the latest incident the third major service disruption in three months involving Singapore's rail system.
The broken cables are now with a testing institute for investigations, said SBS Transit on Friday.
