Concrete slab falls on Bangladeshi worker, killing him

A Bangladeshi worker died after a concrete slab fell on him at a construction site of the new Downtown MRT Line along Evans Road, off Bukit Timah Road.

He was operating an excavator deep in the ground when the slab fell on him.

Rescuers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call about the accident at 3.52am. It took nearly five hours to break the slab to get to the man lying motionless on the ground.
