$62 million in grants for 48 sports groups

More than $62 million in grants will be given to 48 national sports associations for the coming financial year, a similar amount to the last financial year.

Core sports such as badminton, bowling, football, shooting, swimming and table tennis continue to be the biggest beneficiaries, staying in the top tier and will be get more than $1.5 million.

Sepak takraw made the biggest leap, rising up two tiers and will now receive between $200,000 to $499,000. The sport was in the lowest tier last year and received less than $100,000.

Boxing and ice skating also went up a tier, and will now receive between $100,000 to $199,000. They received less than $100,000 last year.
