National bowler Remy Ong in hit and run involving stray dog

National bowler Remy Ong, 33, was involved in a hit and run accident on Sunday in which he hit a stray dog that later died.

He was driving outside the National Service Resort & Country Club in Changi in his black Porsche Boxter when he hit a female dog and also dislodged the car's number plate.

Eye-witnesses said they saw the car speeding off without stopping. Mr Danny Ng, 18, who was cycling in the area saw the dog lying injured in the middle of the road. It died 20 minutes later, just as a rescue officer from the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals arrived at the scene.

Mr Ong said the dog had dashed onto the road. 'The dog came out of nowhere. I felt a brush, so I thought it went underneath the car,' he said. He went on to pick a friend up, but returned to the scene later after finding something amiss.
