There was plenty of hype surrounding the match as it marked the return of a Singapore representative side in Malaysian football after a 17-year absence.
And the match certainly lived up to its billing.
LIONSXII centre-back Baihakki Khaizan nodded the hosts into the lead in the 32nd minute.
But against the run of play, the Red Warriors equalised through a brilliant finish from talismanic striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha.
And it was Kelantan who went on to seal all three points in the 80th minute, with Muhammad Gaddar clinically dispatching a penalty kick after he had been felled in the box.
