Three Singaporeans were swimming off Trikora beach in Bintan island when they were dragged out to sea. 'One of them managed to swim to shore and sought help from local people,' the police chief in Gunung Kijang, Mr Rahmat Djantan said.
The three were followers of the moderate Tabligh movement, whose missionaries travel the globe to preach Islam. Police said they had been on the island, which is near Singapore, for 40 days.
