Two ground staff charged with stealing duty-free items on SIA plane

Two ground equipment staff were charged yesterday with five counts of stealing duty-free items from a Singapore Airlines plane.

Glenn Mejia Santos, 35, and Rene Boy Catipon Frani, 30, allegedly committed the offences on five occasions over two months from Oct 17. They allegedly stole watches, pens, and jewellery worth more than S$8,000.

Both will be back in court on Thursday. If convicted of theft, they could each face up to three years' jail and a fine on each charge.
