Some time before midnight on Dec 12, 2009, Sulaiman Osman, 50, a security guard, was driving at 146kmh in a 70kmh zone when he saw the brake lights of a motorcycle come on ahead of him as he was approaching the junction of Bukit Batok Road and Bukit Batok West Avenue 3.

He lost control of his car, skidded and hit the back of 19 year old Muhd Safiee Hamid's bike, throwing the student off.
Mr Safiee, who landed near a bus stop, suffered multiple abrasions and was treated later as an outpatient.
Sulaiman's car went on to hit the back of Mohd Syaffiq Salleh's motor-cycle, throwing him and his pillion rider, Muhd Afiqhizami Mohd Ghazali, both aged 20, onto the roadside.
Mr Syaffiq died on the spot from head injuries. Mr Afiqhizami died in hospital about two hours later.
Sulaiman told the police he had driven that fast because he felt tired, and had wanted to return home quickly.
For causing the deaths of a motorcyclist and his pillion rider, Sulaiman Osman was jailed for nine months yesterday. He was also banned from driving all vehicles for seven years.
