A man who caused hurt to three police officers in the course of their work was jailed a total of nine months on Tuesday.
Idris Husin, 55, a production operator, was at a coffeeshop at Block 678A Woodlands Avenue 6 on Sept 4 when he had a dispute with his friend. Both later exchanged blows and fought in the presence of police officers. The pair were arrested.
The court heard that Idris was being escorted to a police car when he suddenly head-butted Staff Sergeant Stanley Png Weiwen on the chest repeatedly and tried to bite the 29-year-old.
Investigation also further showed that while Assistant Superintendent Phang Chew Shia, 30, was holding on to his arm to prevent him from struggling, Idris elbowed her in the stomach.
