Duke of Edinburgh leaves hospital

The Duke of Edinburgh has left Papworth Hospital four nights after having a coronary stent fitted. The 90-year-old had been admitted following chest pains.

The prince, who smiled and waved to reporters as he left, has now returned to the Royal Family's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

This prince was under doctor's orders not to leave his bed while he was kept under observation. His next formal engagement is not until 17 January when he is due to attend a dinner at the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge.
