The 37-year-old male Singaporean driver was reported to be in the lorry when the incident took place, and has still not been found.

A search and rescue operation for the driver is currently under way.

MPA is working with the Police Coast Guard and the Naval Diving Unit from Singapore Armed Forces to try and locate the sunken lorry as well as the missing driver.

Navigational broadcasts have been issued to vessels in the vicinity to keep clear of the area and to report any sighting of the missing person.
