Yesterday afternoon, the central defender became the 29th player to join V Sundramoorthy's LionsXII side that will take part in Malaysian domestic football competitions next year.
"I'm honoured that the team are still interested in me even at this late stage. I feel that it's my duty to come back and serve my country," said Baihakki, who was dropped from the national team after their disastrous performance at the Suzuki Cup last year.
"We need experience in central defence, and Baihakki will be a good addition to the squad, we are pleased to have him," said Sundram.
While Baihakki will play for the LionsXII side in a one-year deal, he will continue to serve as an ambassador for Sembawang.
