New police land division in Woodlands, more neighbourhood CCTVs coming soon

A new police land division will be set up in Woodlands New Town as part of the Ministry of Home Affairs' plans to beef up its resources to meet the demands of a fast-growing and increasingly diverse population.

The new police land division will be the force's seventh. Two other Neighbourhood Police Centres will also be built in Woodlands West and Punggol. The police will also revamp its community policing model and deepen engagement with the community to ensure a strong sense of safety and security.

On that front, the police will also expand its Community Engagement Programme to include youth and new immigrants. More CCTVs (closed-circuit television) will also be introduced in local neighbourhoods to help prevent and solve crime.
