SMRT said the power failure, which paralysed its Circle Line, was due to a faulty cable beneath the platform level at Dakota station.

It said about 26,600 passengers were affected by the incident.

SMRT is checking the system as a precaution.

It added that passengers who were unable to complete their journeys due to the disruption can file a claim for refund at the passenger service centre at any of the 68 SMRT stations within the next three working days.
