Seven people were taken to the Singapore General Hospital for minor smoke inhalation from a fire that broke out early Wednesday morning in a provision shop at Block 150A Bishan Street 11.
Among them were two children aged 3 and 6, and a 70-year-old woman.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they were alerted to the fire at about 5.30am. No one was in the shop at that time, and the fire was put out in 20 minutes.
Approximately 50 residents from the block had self-evacuated prior to SCDF's arrival. The cause of fire is under investigation.
