A learning centre for students with dyslexia opened officially in Sengkang yesterday, following calls by parents of children with the learning disability who live in the North East District.

The Sengkang Learning Centre is the first centre set up by the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) in the district, and it will help to ease the travel woes of children who previously had to travel to centres situated in neighbourhoods such as Bishan or Tampines.

The learning centre is situated at Block 257C Compassvale Road, and is the ninth run by DAS.
