87 drug suspects nabbed in CNB raids

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) have arrested 87 people over a four-day operation that began on Sept 12 and ended today.

CNB's supervision division mounted the island wide operation targeting street-level demand and the supply of drugs.

CNB officers nabbed 80 suspected drug abusers and seven suspected drug traffickers, seizing drugs worth about S$36,400.

They included about 206 grammes of heroin, 11 grammes of 'Ice', 264 Erimin-5 tablets and other drugs such as 'Ecstasy'.

Among the seven suspected drug traffickers arrested was a male Singaporean who was caught with a sizeable amount of heroin.

The 44-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in Jalan Bukit Merah.

Officers searched his car and recovered 20 packets of heroin weighing about 156 grammes.
